Four Generations

Happy Mothers Day! Gift for my mother. Me, my grandma, mother and my daughter.

This painting means a lot to me. My mom always talked about a picture with the four of us... but my grandmother died before Kadree came to us, so this picture is something I wish could have taken place.

I truly believe that even though my grandma didn't get to see her here on earth, she saw her before Heavenly Father sent her to us. When Kadree was born I always asked her "How's Grandma? Did she give you a big hug and kiss, before you were sent to live with us?" It touches me very deeply, because I wish this picture was a photograph instead of a painting. I miss my grandma (and grandpa) so much. I can't wait to see them again.

Because of the amazing strength and love my grandma had for her children, I now have an amazing mother. She is my biggest role model. She has made HUGE sacrifices in her life, some I'm sure if I were in her shoes, I would have given up almost instantly... but she stuck through the hard times, and all for me it seems. She is my best friend, I can tell her anything, and its always been that way. Even in high school we were so tight people sometimes confused us as siblings!

She is a strong, beautiful woman, and I can't even express how much love I have for her, even now as I type I have tears in my eyes. I hope I can have even just a little bit of that strength as I continue on being a mother. I get the feeling I'll struggle, but I'm so blessed to have her as an example. She's an amazing grandmother! Kadree doesn't know how lucky she is to have her as a grandma.

Art wise, this kicked my butt... I've never drawn a very small child or an elderly person, and I'm always picky when drawing myself, I never seem to get my face right, but I did my best.
