Based on this screen shot from the game: [link] But I wanted to see Link's face, I'm sure hiding behind her hair, there was a lot of emotion, after all, he was doing this all for her...
FYI: for those of you who have never played or got this far in Skyward Sword, she's not dead or injured in this shot, she's just weak. ;) Don't fret.

I couldn't get Christina Perri's song "A Thousand Years" out of my head when I drew this... it fit perfectly, since Zelda was locked away for thousands of years. And he always has some sort of connection and feeling for Zelda throughout all of the games, but Skyward Sword finally gave us what we wanted, a REAL relationship between Link and Zelda. It's so tender sweet my squee is overloaded!!!

I tried a completely new style, more chunky blocks of highlights. Pretty simple, but I love the way this turned out!!! I might try this on some other pics later. ^^

Oh man this was such a great scene, I had to try so hard to contain my 'squee'-ing so I could hear everything XD
You did a great job, I wish we had been able to see his face like this, the tears would have been so sweet!
