EDIT: Comments disabled. I didn't want to do this, but apparently a few people can't get it into their thick intolerant skulls that other people have different musical tastes that differ from theirs.
This tells a lot about a person and what type of music they listen to and how they behave to others. So far only super devoted rap fans have flamed and insulted me over this matter. It's not making you guys look too good...
For some reason, I'm thinking of Kanye West right now....
So... If you don't want a negative stereotype floating over your head, you might want to try a different approach. Either that, or just shut your mouth and let people have their own opinions.

Now, with that being said, here is my honest opinion:
I don't think all rap is crap, this is mostly for the talentless-gansta-sex-pimps-cursin'-bump n' grind-drugs-rape-violence type of rap that is flooding the radio these days. I do not care for that type of music. Don't like that I don't like it? *hands tissue* Cry me a river...
I do however enjoy listenening to some of the older rap songs, back when it was new, like in the early 90s. When it was a play on words and a unique way to listen to music. When it was fun, and when it wasn't talking about all that crud and swearing up a storm. Most modern rap today has just shifted into something repetitive and has all the things I listed above.
Now, there are good rap artists out there who actually do make it interesting and have a musical aspect to it, and that is fine. They break away from the pack. But I don't care for the majority of rap these days.
I won't go into individual artists or whatever, but I felt I should clear this up.
STOP THINKING I'M CLOSE-MINDED. I gave the rap of this generation a chance and I DID NOT LIKE IT. Boo hoo if you can't stand that.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
